Internship: Resurrection HouseResurrection HouseAn Episcopal Internship for Young Adult DiscernmentUnsure what you want to do with your life? Are you discerning a call to ministry?Come spend a year with us in Resurrection House, in Omaha, NE!
Resurrection House is... An urban Christian community for recent college graduates. Participants live together for nine months in a home located adjacent to the most culturally diverse and direct-action outreach oriented Episcopal parish in Nebraska. The Resurrection House program emphasizes personal discernment and personal growth through simple communal living and prayer. Fifty percent of an interns work is spent serving in a local Episcopal parish performing a variety of ministries . Twenty five percent is spent in community outreach initiatives, and the final twenty-five percent is spent in spiritual direction, prayer, and theological education. The program includes pastoral oversight, spiritual direction, and mutual mentoring with peers. All these efforts are molded toward discernment. It is our goal for each intern to develop a deep sense of their purpose in life and to form the habits necessary to fullfil that purpose. Two to four recent collge graduates are annually selected for this unique program. The program strives to assemble a culturally diverse community of interns. Women and men who are considering the prospect of studying for ordained ministry are especially encouraged to apply. Housing, food, moving allowance, medical insurance, work mileage and monthly stipend are all provided. We are part of the Episcopal Service Corp, a federation of internships in the Episcopal Church.
